Japan AI Governance Statement
This Statement sets out the position of Prodia Systems Ltd ("Prodia") in relation to Japan's AI governance regime, including the AI Guidelines for Business published jointly by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), and the Hiroshima AI Process Code of Conduct for Advanced AI Systems.
1. Governance Principles
- Human-centric AI consistent with the Social Principles of Human-Centric AI.
- Safety, security and privacy by design.
- Fairness and inclusion.
- Transparency and accountability.
- Education and literacy support for users and operators.
2. Data Protection
Personal data of individuals in Japan is processed in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) guidance.
3. Advanced AI & Foundation Models
Where the Service incorporates advanced or foundation models supplied by third parties, Prodia selects providers that engage with the Hiroshima AI Process and publish information sufficient to meet applicable Japanese transparency expectations.
4. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for sector-specific AI obligations applicable to them in Japan, including those issued by the Financial Services Agency, MHLW and other competent authorities.
